About the position

The Associate Vice President of Operations at McLeod Physician Associates is responsible for overseeing the operational effectiveness of assigned practices, ensuring high-quality patient care, and driving strategic initiatives in collaboration with senior leadership. This role emphasizes leadership in quality management, financial oversight, and the development of practice operations to optimize staffing, productivity, and revenue while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to the quality management system by promoting process approaches and risk-based thinking.
  • Engage, direct, and support staff to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system.
  • Lead strategic decisions in conjunction with senior leadership, evaluating growth opportunities through alliances, acquisitions, and physician recruitment.
  • Establish and enhance effective relationships and communications with MPA physicians and non-physician staff.
  • Serve as a business leader for assigned MPA practices, focusing on optimized practice operations.
  • Collaborate with service line physicians to drive improvements for high-value patient care.
  • Monitor finance and operations of assigned practices to ensure performance objectives are met.
  • Provide leadership and supervision of assigned operations through oversight of Practice Administrators.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for responsible practices in conjunction with VP/Practice Administrators.
  • Coordinate resources from McLeod Health corporate services with other AVPs.
  • Mentor and develop assigned practice leadership teams for performance and succession planning.
  • Maintain compliance with governmental regulations and industry requirements based on specialty.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with healthcare administration trends.
  • Provide administrative direction to directors, managers, employed physicians, and staff for assigned services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Health Science Field preferred.
