About the position

The Associate Vice President of Operations at Galen College of Nursing is responsible for providing leadership in managing multiple campuses, ensuring adherence to college policies and standards to enhance the student experience. This role involves overseeing various departments, fostering a cohesive team environment, and driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency and student satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in establishing, operating, and evaluating branch campuses under College standards.
  • Create cohesive campus teams in collaboration with regional deans that understand Galen culture and processes to provide an excellent student experience.
  • Develop and coach regional and campus level operations leaders.
  • Work with teams to ensure successful achievement of key performance indicators, including enrollment, efficiency, student satisfaction, fiscal responsibility, service, and accreditation.
  • Maintain open communication with campus and College leadership to enhance productivity, customer service, and maintain a positive working environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the student experience through educating leaders and staff on the College's culture architecture and recognizing and building upon success efforts.
  • Understand and provide leadership in managing campus level budget and expenditures.
  • Handle operational and service-related complaints, solving or escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Oversee campus staffing to meet the needs of current and potential students.
  • Ensure campus events reflect brand standards, including graduation, orientation, open houses, and regulatory visits, in collaboration with other departments as appropriate.
  • Oversee campus safety and security, including disaster planning and emergency response.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the administrative services of the campus.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of progressively senior operational experience, preferably in higher education.
  • A Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in oversight of operations, budgeting, business process design, and managing in a growing and changing organization.
  • Effectively able to build consensus among and prioritize needs of constituent groups.
  • Independent judgment, strong analytical ability, with the ability to implement and manage processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to manage and develop employees, and communicate effectively in a matrix management structure.
  • Highly organized and possess the ability to constantly multi-task between departments and projects.
