About the position

The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Student Success at Davis Technical College is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for the college's engagement and student success priorities. This role involves supervising the Student Services and Scholarship and Financial Aid departments, managing programs and services, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and accreditation standards. The AVP collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance student retention, graduation, and employability, while also overseeing departmental budgets and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership direction and strategic planning for recruitment, assessment, enrollment, financial aid, advisement, and student support.
  • Supervise the Student Services and Scholarship and Financial Aid departments.
  • Manage the administration and evaluation of assigned programs, services, personnel, policies, procedures, and budgets.
  • Serve as Title IX Coordinator and ensure compliance with federal and state laws and civil rights requirements.
  • Develop and maintain program articulation agreements with public and higher education partners.
  • Monitor workloads and prioritize staffing needs to ensure effective delivery of student services.
  • Encourage high morale and quality student service through effective leadership.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations of assigned staff and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Support the Vice President by providing regular reports and developing proposals for the Presidents Council.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in student affairs or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of experience in enrollment management, marketing, or a related field.
  • Seven years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse college community and foster a culture of inclusion and respect.
  • Process improvement and project management skills with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge of Council on Occupational Education accreditation requirements.
