About the position

The Assistant/Associate Professor and Program Director for the Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is a full-time faculty position responsible for leading the MAT program, which is recognized for its excellence and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The role involves teaching, program administration, student advising, and participation in scholarly activities, all aimed at enriching the lives of athletic training students and positively impacting the healthcare community.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Program Director for the MAT program.
  • Teach courses in the MAT program and potentially in other programs in the department.
  • Direct all matters related to the MAT program, including maintaining CAATE accreditation, program planning and review, oversight of faculty and staff, and budget management.
  • Advise MAT students.
  • Participate in scholarly activity.
  • Engage in service at the departmental, college, and university levels.
  • Commit to building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.

Requirements

  • Earned doctoral degree in athletic training, sports medicine, or related area.
  • Current Athletic Training credential.
  • Texas state Athletic Training license or eligible.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of CAATE accreditation professional standards.
  • Previous experience as a program director.
  • Record of teaching experience (didactic, clinical, contemporary expertise in athletic training).
  • Evidence of scholarly agenda and professional development.
