About the position

The Assistant Athletic Director of Finance at the University of Central Oklahoma is responsible for managing and administering all financial aspects of the Athletic Department. This role involves overseeing daily operations, budget planning, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to manage budgets for athletic organizations and facilitate financial processes, including procurement and scholarship management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer all aspects of the business office for the Athletic Department.
  • Oversee finance and business activities, including day-to-day operations and budget planning.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for approximately 160 Athletic department organizations.
  • Provide monthly and annual budget reports to the Director of Athletics and coaches.
  • Work with coaches and compliance directors to track scholarship budgets and expenditures.
  • Facilitate award and payment of scholarships for graduate assistants.
  • Develop and maintain organizational controls to ensure adherence to NCAA and University policies.
  • Serve as department liaison for periodic audits of department controls and data.
  • Coordinate travel processes for the department and assist with travel arrangements.
  • Facilitate procurement and payment processes for the department.
  • Assist in execution of various contracts associated with the Athletic department.
  • Perform special projects, including research and analysis of utilization data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a job-related field plus 7+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in leading, planning, program development, and innovation.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of functional area related to finance and business operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain a complex system of inter-related files and adapt to changing organizational needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in budget management and human resources.
  • Extensive use of computers and experience preparing spreadsheets and reports.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $53,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year.
