About the position

The Assistant Coach for Women's Gymnastics at William & Mary is responsible for teaching and mentoring student-athletes, helping them develop self-confidence and leadership skills while pursuing their athletic and academic goals. This role involves providing leadership for a competitive NCAA Division I program, fostering a positive environment for student-athletes, and collaborating with the men's gymnastics team to support the overall gymnastics program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and mentor student-athletes to develop self-confidence and leadership abilities.
  • Provide leadership and direction for a highly competitive NCAA Division I athletic program.
  • Maintain a balance between athletic and academic excellence.
  • Create and maintain a positive, nurturing environment for student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with the men's gymnastics team as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and significant or extensive professional level of experience or specialized expertise.
  • Skills or competencies related to the sport through previous playing and/or coaching experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities gained through prior playing and/or coaching experience in the sport.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small and large group discussions.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to utilize the latest advances in technology.

  • Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience.
