About the position
The Assistant Director for Instructional Technologies Integration at Villanova University will play a crucial role in enhancing faculty support for the integration of instructional technologies in teaching. This position aims to improve student learning experiences and outcomes by assisting faculty in the purposeful selection and implementation of various educational technologies. The AD will work closely with faculty across disciplines to foster innovative teaching practices and ensure alignment with the university's academic strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Support faculty in the purposeful selection and use of tools in the Brightspace LMS.
- Assist faculty in the design of courses and course elements using University-supported instructional technologies.
- Help implement instructional technologies that align with strategic pedagogical priorities.
- Streamline access to instructional technology resources for faculty.
- Research and evaluate pedagogical practices related to emerging instructional technologies.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of VITAL's support services.
- Develop and implement professional development programs and workshops for faculty.
- Consult with faculty on evidence-supported practices in instructional technology.
- Identify opportunities for campus-wide visibility of innovative pedagogical use cases.
- Stay current in the field of educational development and instructional technologies.
Requirements
- Earned Master's degree in instructional design, education, learning sciences and technology, educational technology, or a closely related field required.
- Two to four years of experience in designing, managing, and assessing technology-enhanced instruction in support of faculty.
Nice-to-haves
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred.
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive classroom design principles.
- Experience with digital media development tools.
