About the position

The Assistant Graphic Designer position at Chico's FAS, Inc. is a vital role that supports the Art Director in the creation and production of marketing assets tailored to meet specific communication and promotional needs across various marketing channels. This position is integral to maintaining the brand's aesthetic and ensuring that all design efforts are impactful, accurate, and aligned with the overall marketing strategy. The Assistant Graphic Designer will work closely with the Creative Director and Art Directors to ensure consistency in design across all platforms, including digital communications, emails, signage, direct mail, and packaging. In this role, the designer will be responsible for developing graphics and layouts under the guidance of the Art Director, managing the image library, and assisting with retouching markups. The designer must understand the specifications required for each project and adhere to production schedules, ensuring that all deadlines are met. This includes tasks such as scanning, organizing, preparing files for release, and checking proofs and production samples. Collaboration with Copywriters is also essential to ensure that the design projects align with the overall marketing calendar and strategy. The position requires a strong foundation in graphic design principles, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, and a solid understanding of HTML and CSS. While the role is entry-level, it offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those with limited experience to grow within a dynamic and creative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Art Director in the concept design and production of marketing assets.
  • Develop graphics and layouts for various channels including DCOMM, emails, signage, direct mail, and packaging.
  • Confer with Creative Director and Art Directors to ensure design consistency across all channels.
  • Manage the image library and assist with retouching markups across all channels.
  • Ensure excitement, impact, and accuracy in all marketing design efforts.
  • Understand specification requirements for each job before setup and final release.
  • Adhere to production schedules and deadlines, including scanning, organizing, and preparing files for release.
  • Work with Copywriter(s) to maintain project relationships to the overall strategy and marketing calendar.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Graphic Design from an accredited institution or equivalent education/experience.
  • 0-2 years' experience in graphic design.
  • Proficient on Mac in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of web design and video editing preferred.
