About the position

The position involves overseeing multiple departments and supervisors within a distribution operation at New Balance, ensuring that teams meet safety, quality, and cost goals. The role requires creating strategic objectives and initiatives to drive operational improvements while embodying the company's core values of teamwork, integrity, and total customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Complete forecast analysis to provide labor needs to supervisors.
  • Coordinate the daily plan with DC Supervisors.
  • Work with the Supervisory group to maximize DC throughput and productivity.
  • Ensure that safety, productivity, and continuous improvement programs are established and followed.
  • Maintain and distribute reports on DC metrics.
  • Work with other internal departments to resolve operational problems.
  • Manage process improvement projects.
  • Interview, hire, and terminate in coordination with Human Resources and according to company policies.
  • Train, assist, and remove barriers that may block associates from reaching the company goals.
  • Track employee hours, discipline, and time off via Workday.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to create mid-term (6-12 months) strategies and objectives to improve operations.
  • Strong planning, organization, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively and efficiently verbally and in writing.
  • Thorough knowledge of distribution activities and systems, including WMS.
  • Experience with Manhattan WMS is a plus.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles - lean processes, 6S, standard work and process audits is preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities is essential.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 10 years of DC experience at a lead level or higher, preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing (Spanish bilingual preferred).
  • Proven track record of stability and dependability in the workplace.
  • Ability to use RF scanner or WMS workstation.
  • Able to operate lift equipment, as assigned.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of Lean Principles - lean processes, 6S, standard work and process audits is preferred.
  • Spanish bilingual preferred.
