This role also involves performing stocking and cashiering functions, as well as other duties that contribute to maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction while safeguarding company assets and minimizing losses. The Assistant Store Manager is expected to provide superior customer service by greeting and assisting customers, operating the cash register, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. This position requires opening and closing the store at least two days a week, assisting the Store Manager with employee scheduling, training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The Assistant Store Manager will follow company processes to manage merchandise, which includes receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking, and rotating products on shelves, as well as building merchandise displays. In addition to inventory management, the Assistant Store Manager will assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, and ensuring proper scanning and paperwork. They will also help implement and maintain planograms, ensuring that merchandise is presented according to established practices and Store Manager directives. Financial integrity is a key responsibility, which includes strict cashier accountability, key control, adherence to security practices, and cash control procedures. The Assistant Store Manager will authorize refunds and overrides, count register tills, and deposit money in the bank. In the absence of the Store Manager, this position will assist in managing the store effectively.
