About the position

As an Assurance Advisor in Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) at Ernst & Young, you will play a pivotal role in addressing complex environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges. Your primary focus will be on climate change and decarbonization, where you will manage emerging risks and help clients reduce costs by designing and implementing effective systems and processes. This position requires you to provide strategic, technical, and reporting expertise on a wide range of climate-related issues, including decarbonization strategies, emissions measurement, and non-financial reporting. You will collaborate closely with partners, senior managers, and clients to influence strategic decisions while balancing risk and client expectations. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the unique needs and ambitions of clients, managing performance, and identifying opportunities for product and process improvements. You will produce high-quality deliverables, navigate client relationships, and foster a high-performance team culture. Your ability to solve complex client problems through research and data analysis will be crucial, as you will synthesize findings into key insights that inform executive decisions. Additionally, you will assist in generating new business opportunities and building industry networks focused on climate change and decarbonization agendas. As a manager, you will lead and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, ensuring the consistent delivery of quality client services. You will monitor progress and demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge, while also maintaining long-term client relationships and cultivating business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Solve challenging ESG and climate change problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sustainability, Accounting, Engineering, Environmental Science, Data Science or a related field and 5 years of related work experience, or a Master's degree in the same fields with 4 years of related experience.
  • 4 years of Sustainability experience.
  • 3 years of experience with climate change megatrends, net-zero decarbonization strategies, GHG inventory plans, and data management.
  • 3 years of experience with researching and resolving emerging client issues, including regulations and industry practices.
  • 3 years of consulting experience within a large professional firm.
  • 2 years of experience with net-zero and science-based target decarbonization strategies.
  • Certification/accreditation in relevant fields such as CSSGB, GHG Verifier, ISSP-CSP, LEED, PE, PMP, or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with renewable energy and scope 3 supply chain decarbonization strategies.
  • Familiarity with carbon offsets and markets.
