We are currently seeking dynamic Assurance Managers to join our Assurance (Audit) team in Atlanta. This position presents an exciting opportunity to work for one of the most respected public accounting firms in the country, with industry niches that include manufacturing/distribution, real estate, construction, technology, transportation, private equity, financial services, staffing, and professional service firms. As an Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for performing complex audits and reviewing financial statement audits, benefit plan audits, reviews, and compilations. You will prepare financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with GAAP, conduct internal control documentation and testing, and assist Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners with various consulting projects. Additionally, you will train and supervise staff, review the process of work papers and financial statements, and ensure that budget and realization goals are met while supporting staff in achieving their budgeted hours and realization goals. Identifying problem areas and client issues, proposing solutions to managers, and improving technical skills through continuing professional education (CPE) and on-the-job training will also be key aspects of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex audits and review financial statement audits, benefit plan audits, reviews, and compilations.
  • Prepare financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with GAAP.
  • Conduct internal control documentation and testing.
  • Assist Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners with consulting projects.
  • Train and supervise staff and review the process of work papers and financial statements.
  • Meet budget and realization goals while supporting staff in meeting their budgeted hours and realization goals.
  • Identify problem areas and client issues and propose solutions to managers.
  • Identify technical skills needed for improvement and improve through CPE, personal commitment, and on-the-job training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and current CPA license required.
  • 4-7 years experience in the assurance/audit side of public accounting.
  • Experience in transportation, manufacturing, and/or construction is a major plus.
  • Experience running engagements, leading a team of seniors and associates, and reviewing work papers and financial statements.
  • Superior Excel skills and well-rounded knowledge of audit and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with CCH Pro fx Engagement and IDEA software is considered a plus.
  • Consultative approach with a focus on providing superior client service.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
  • Self-directed, autonomous, motivated, and ambitious.
  • Exceptional and proactive communicator (verbal & written).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CCH Pro fx Engagement and IDEA software.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
