About the position

As an Intern in the IS Assurance practice at BDO, you will leverage your educational background and organizational skills to assist in problem-solving and fact-finding for the firm's diverse client base. This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced team members, gaining hands-on experience and building critical relationships that will aid in your career development.

Responsibilities

• Document and test application and automated controls on various software application packages.
• Assist in the preparation of audit reports and recommendations related to IS audit work performed.
• Participate in the review of internal controls based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with client personnel and management.
• Conduct client interviews to gather relevant information for non-complex clients.
• Perform walkthroughs of client controls.
• Document controls, tests performed, and results.
• Prepare workpapers in the required format.
• Apply IS audit principles and guidelines to non-complex client environments.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Past leadership experience is preferred.
• Prior internship or work study experience in information systems and operational auditing is preferred.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
• Exposure to various industry ERP applications is highly preferred.
