About the position

Alluvionic is seeking an Astronaut Survival and Personnel Recovery Operations Specialist to support the 1st Air Force at Patrick Space Force Base, FL. This full-time role involves providing operational and tactical inputs for survival and personnel recovery operations, particularly in relation to NASA's Artemis and Commercial Crew Programs. The specialist will act as a liaison between various military and space agencies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration for mission success.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and tactical level inputs regarding survival and personnel recovery assets for rescue operations following Orion or CCP contingency land or water landings.
• Ensure interagency crossflow of survival and personnel recovery related information within the Orion/CCP programs.
• Develop plans and courses of action for use at Joint Search and Rescue Centers in the event of a contingency landing or splashdown.
• Prepare and present briefings and papers to senior military and interagency leaders.
• Conceptualize and present mission-specific training or orientation courses for military personnel.
• Produce high-quality products and recommendations consistent with a fiscally constrained mission environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in DoD Survival or Personnel Recovery training and operations.
• Expert knowledge of U.S. Navy organization, regulations, and procedures related to Navy Diver operations.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments on time with thorough and logical products.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Graduate of a formal DoD survival instructor school.
• Previously served as a primary instructor at Water Survival Training.
• Experience at the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency or Joint Search and Rescue Center.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
