As an At-Risk Aide, you will be responsible for various tasks that support the educational process. This includes checking and recording student attendance, working with individuals or small groups to reinforce materials introduced by the teacher, and helping students master the use of instructional materials. You will also assist with student supervision during lunch and recess, check notebooks, correct papers, supervise testing, and engage in oral communication with students, such as reading to them and listening to them read. Additional duties may be assigned by the teacher as needed. The performance of this role will be evaluated annually in accordance with the district's policies.

Responsibilities

  • Checks and records student attendance.
  • Works with individuals or small groups to reinforce materials introduced by the teacher.
  • Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
  • Assists with student supervision during lunch and recess.
  • Checks notebooks, corrects papers, supervises testing and make-up work assigned by the teacher.
  • Reads to students and listens to students read in addition to other forms of oral communication with students.
  • Performs any additional duties assigned by the teacher.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a demonstrated aptitude for the work being performed.
  • Ability to make responsible decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations promptly.
  • Must pass a background check.
