About the position

The ATC Technician (On-Board) position at Hitachi Rail involves technical electronic and electro-mechanical maintenance and repair work on Automatic Train Control (ATC) systems for the Honolulu Rail Project. The role requires a self-motivated individual who can perform complex troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on ATC equipment while adhering to safety and operational guidelines. The technician will also provide technical assistance to lower classified personnel and participate in training programs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, testing, and troubleshooting on ATC equipment.
• Conduct major repairs, inspections, adjustments, and cleaning of ATC systems according to technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Modify equipment based on pre-engineered technical data and fabricate prototype test units as necessary.
• Observe ATC system components in operation to detect potential failures and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Complete documentation for installation, maintenance, and modification of ATC equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to lower classified personnel and participate in training programs.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of an acceptable electronic/electro-mechanical course.
• 5-7 years of experience in maintenance/repair of complex digital circuitry and analog/digital train control systems.
• Experience in electro-mechanical train control work associated with rapid rail transit or conventional railroad systems.
