About the position

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated ATC Technician (On-board) to join the Honolulu Rail Project. This role involves performing technical electronic and electro-mechanical maintenance and repair work on ATC equipment, ensuring the reliability and safety of train control systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute ideas for continuous improvement and creativity in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, testing, and troubleshooting on ATC equipment.
• Conduct major repairs, inspections, adjustments, and cleaning of assigned ATC equipment according to technical documentation.
• Modify assigned equipment based on pre-engineered technical data.
• Fabricate prototype test units for testing sub-assemblies within the systems.
• Perform ATC type renovation and installation work as required.
• Observe ATC system components in operation to detect potential failures and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Respond to ATC malfunctions and implement necessary repairs or replacements.
• Utilize electronic test equipment and specialized tools for maintenance tasks.
• Complete documentation for installation, maintenance, and modification of ATC equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to lower classified personnel and participate in training programs.

Requirements

• Certified Athletic Trainer certification.
• 5-7 years of experience in maintenance and repair of complex digital circuitry and analog/digital train control systems.
• Mid-level mechanical knowledge and experience in electro-mechanical train control work associated with rapid rail transit or related systems.
• Satisfactory completion of an acceptable electronic/electro-mechanical course.
