About the position
The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) at Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network is responsible for providing athletic training services under the direction of the Coordinator of Sports Medicine. This role focuses on the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, ensuring athletes' health and safety while serving as a liaison among physicians, coaches, athletes, and parents. The ATC will also manage the athletic training room and coordinate coverage for events, promoting a patient-centered and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete athletic training responsibilities for assigned school under the operational direction of the Coordinator of Sports Medicine.
- Prevent athletic injuries and provide immediate care for athletic injuries.
- Recognize and evaluate athletic injuries, and facilitate rehabilitation and reconditioning.
- Serve as a liaison between physicians, coaches, athletes, and parents.
- Ensure athletes participate only when physically able and that physician instructions are understood and followed.
- Coordinate with the Athletic Director to cover the athletic training room and required events.
Requirements
- Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) as an athletic trainer with a bachelor's of science degree in a related field.
- NH & MA State licensed or license eligible athletic trainer.
- CPR/AED certified.
- Effective interpersonal skills for communication in person and in writing.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Good general health and emotional stability.
- Dependable and conscientious with a sincere interest in the role.
- Ability to relate well to others in a courteous, respectful, and supportive manner.
- Adequate physical strength to assist with resistive activities.
