About the position

The Hardware Engineer position at Athenix involves supporting the design and development of complex computing systems, particularly in defense applications. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including system hardware architectural design, integration of system components, and network systems engineering, all aimed at meeting specific customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Performing end to end system hardware architectural design based on customer requirements.
  • Integrating various system components including servers, network switches, GPS, and timing devices.
  • Conducting end-to-end network systems engineering and collaborating with vendors to identify new requirements.
  • Creating higher level network designs with Cisco and preparing necessary procurement documents.
  • Designing complex network core cabling integration and infrastructure cabling between racks.
  • Providing configurations and changes to drafter, ensuring cabling drawing packages are accurate.
  • Integrating equipment from vendors such as Cisco, HP, Dell, and IBM.
  • Performing quality assurance on all systems procurement to ensure compliance with build standards.
  • Managing in-house Drawing Configuration Management using ACAD or Visio for 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Confirming the accuracy of drawing packages and maintaining Level II drawings and facility layouts.
  • Researching new technologies and obtaining technical specifications.
  • Tracking status to organize documentation deliveries and providing drawing packages to repositories.
  • Creating custom fabrication component drawings for vendor bid submittals.
  • Automating processes for tracking components associated with Floor Plans, Rack Elevations & Cable databases.
  • Providing and receiving technical specifications to/from vendors and reviewing quotes for accuracy.
  • Creating rack elevations and build documents for vendors and updating build cable run lists.

Requirements

  • Active Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
  • Entry Level: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field, and no or minimal experience (or 4 years of relevant experience without a degree).
  • Basic Level: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field, and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Mid Level: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field, and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Senior Level: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field, and 12 years of relevant experience.
  • A Master's degree in an engineering or related field can substitute for 4 years of experience.
