The Athletic Coach (Certified CCPS Employee) position is designed for individuals who are passionate about sports and education, providing oversight and assistance to the Head Coach in delivering effective coaching to K-12 secondary school age children. This role involves supervising and training student athletes, ensuring they develop their skills according to their abilities while encouraging them to maintain active participation in sports. The coach will be responsible for delivering core movement and sport-specific skills training, fostering a positive and engaging environment for students to thrive in their athletic pursuits. As an Assistant Coach, the individual will report directly to the Head Coach, who in turn reports to the School Site Athletic Director. The responsibilities include instructing students on the fundamentals of various sports, collaborating with the coaching staff to establish rules and regulations for the team, and assisting in the registration of athletes. The coach will also help in the systematic issuance of equipment, coordinate try-outs, and supervise practice schedules. A significant aspect of the role is to guide and encourage student athletes in making informed decisions about their participation in sports, ensuring that their involvement aligns with their abilities and interests. The position requires close collaboration with other staff members to coordinate activities and opportunities for student athletes.
