About the position

The Athletic Director at Tiverton High School is a part-time position responsible for overseeing all athletic programs for both middle and high school students. In addition to administrative duties, the Athletic Director will be responsible for logistical arrangements for home and away games. The Athletic Director will also serve as the administrator on duty during all home games, which involves managing the event and addressing any issues that arise, including settling disputes or complaints from parents. The role also requires the Athletic Director to attend all tournament games and multiple away games to support the teams and ensure compliance with regulations. The Athletic Director will oversee the maintenance of athletic fields, ensuring they are lined and playable for games. Additionally, this position involves ordering equipment, performing safety checks, and ensuring that all football equipment is properly checked and reconditioned. Collaboration with vice principals is essential to address any discipline issues that may affect student-athletes, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all the middle and high school sports.
  • Hires all the coaches in conjunction with the high school administration.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in athletic administration or related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and handling disputes.
