About the position

The Athletic Director at West Lincoln Middle School is responsible for overseeing the school's athletic programs, ensuring equitable treatment of all sports, managing budgets, and coordinating with coaches, parents, and the school administration. The role aims to provide students with opportunities to participate in extracurricular athletic activities that promote physical skills, self-worth, and fair play. The position requires strong organizational and leadership skills, as well as a commitment to upholding the rules and regulations of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA).

Responsibilities

• Provide a list of all equipment to the principal on a yearly basis.
• Oversee and implement all coach evaluations.
• Meet with parents as requested.
• Ensure all sports are treated equitably and advocate for all sports.
• Provide a means for all coaches to have input in the needs assessment for each sport.
• Create an athletic budget and review all athletic accounts with the principal.
• Develop a master schedule for all competitions and submit it for approval.
• Coordinate with the maintenance department for facility needs.
• Ensure compliance with NCHSAA rules and regulations for all sports.
• Act as a tournament manager for league and tournament playoff activities.

Requirements

• Must hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina teaching license in the appropriate licensure area.
• Experience in organizing and operating all aspects of an athletic program preferred.
• Previous coaching experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in teaching.
• Valid CPR Certification.
