About the position

The Athletic Director (AD) at Five Towns College provides leadership to the Sound Athletic Department, overseeing intercollegiate and intramural athletic programs for undergraduate students. The AD is responsible for representing the College at various levels, improving and expanding athletic opportunities, and managing the overall administration of athletic programs.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, evaluate, and recommend the appointment of coaches, assistant coaches, athletic trainers, and game day support personnel.
• Administer the needs of each team, including facilitating the purchase and acquisition of uniforms, equipment, and facilities.
• Coordinate student eligibility, team travel, and game scheduling.
• Assist with the identification and recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
• Represent the Sound Athletic Department at institutional events.
• Develop relationships with high school athletic programs.
• Maintain the Department website/page, including posting statistics and reporting results to the athletic conference and national association.
• Maintain the Department's social media presence.
• Engage in other activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's degree required.
• NYS professional teacher certification in Physical Education (k-12) strongly preferred.
• Record of progressive responsibility in high school and/or collegiate athletics.
• Commitment to professional development and student-centered service.
• Technology literate, including proficiency with computer software and social media platforms.
