Mid Michigan College is seeking an Athletic Director who will be responsible for the oversight, planning, compliance, coaching staff management, and direction of the College's athletic programs. The Athletic Director (AD) will provide leadership for the athletic programs with a high level of integrity, fostering an environment that promotes both academic success and athletic excellence. This role requires collaboration with internal and external constituents to advance the athletic program, ensuring that coaches and staff are committed not only to winning but also to the personal development of student-athletes and adherence to compliance with the rules. The AD will oversee all aspects of the athletic program, which includes planning, travel, purchasing, scheduling, programming, publicity, recruiting, discipline, procedures, fundraising, and other athletic issues. A critical part of the role is ensuring compliance with all NJCAA and MCCAA rules and regulations, coordinating and implementing all stages of the NJCAA eligibility process, and building student files that comply with NJCAA regulations. The AD will also develop a variety of student services and programs aimed at enhancing the student-athlete experience at Mid Michigan College, such as retention initiatives, academic tracking, and health and safety programs. In addition to these responsibilities, the AD will hire, supervise, and evaluate coaches and staff, process contracts and payroll paperwork, and develop the annual athletics department budget while reviewing and controlling expenditures. The AD will attend athletic home events and competitions, acting as the game administrator or designating someone to fulfill that role. This position also requires serving as a liaison with community, state, and conference organizations related to athletics, attending meetings of the MCCAA and regional NJCAA athletic directors, and coordinating the student-athlete recruitment and enrollment process in accordance with NJCAA guidelines. The AD will maintain assessment reports, records, eligibility, athletic statistics, and academic progress reports for student-athletes, exploring and promoting community service projects and other opportunities for student and staff involvement. Collaboration with the Mid Foundation Office to plan and implement athletic promotions and fundraising efforts is also essential. The AD will compile information and statistics for federal reporting on athletic program support and participation rates, ensuring that required reports are completed in a timely manner to maintain compliance. Furthermore, the AD will review and write policies and procedures to ensure effective operations, oversee Mid's athletic facilities, and support the design and upkeep of the athletics website. The role also includes ensuring that the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are present in all student services efforts to best support student success and retention. The AD will collect and analyze data, prepare periodic summaries and evaluative reports, and serve on shared governance committees and other designated ad hoc, college standing committees, and professional organizations. This position requires adherence to the organization's policies and procedures, compliance guidelines, and the responsibilities of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
