About The Position

The Athletic Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Harvard Athletics Allston Complex, which includes managing a team of staff and contracted vendors across 18 buildings totaling over 1 million square feet. This role involves administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, facility maintenance, and ensuring a safe working environment while providing operational oversight of the physical plant and equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in facilities planning preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in facilities management.
  • 5+ years of experience managing athletic facilities.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and attention to detail.
  • Project management expertise and ability to work independently.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform vehicle maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of NCAA timing and scoring equipment.
  • Knowledge of multi-media systems and replay systems.
  • Knowledge of facility scheduling software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation and facilities staff of assigned Athletic buildings including scheduling, maintenance, and event management.
  • Supervise Athletics Property Operations Assistants, including scheduling and work order assignments.
  • Manage operational budgets of assigned facilities and coordinate purchasing needs.
  • Expand functionality of the work order system and oversee lighting controls and security systems.
  • Support internal and external events by managing logistics and coordinating setup and breakdown.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with campus standards.
  • Coordinate health & wellness programs with Environmental Health & Safety staff.
  • Maintain NCAA Division 1 competition level venues and implement deferred maintenance programs.
  • Oversee general maintenance and cleanliness of assigned facilities in collaboration with custodial staff.
  • Manage public relations between customers and facility management.
  • Act as department representative for projects up to $300,000 and coordinate with campus partners and city officials.
