About the position

The Athletic Trainer/Field Manager position at Centralia College is a full-time role focused on developing and implementing an athletic training and facility management program. This position is integral to the athletics department, ensuring the physical health and well-being of athletes while managing field operations and maintenance. The role involves using evidence-based practices for injury prevention and rehabilitation, as well as overseeing the new multisport complex.

Responsibilities

  • Use evidence-based practices to prevent, treat, manage, and rehabilitate athletic injuries.
  • Document all treatments provided and implement concussion protocols.
  • Coordinate physician and medical staff referrals for injured athletes.
  • Collaborate with athletes, coaches, and administrative staff for injury prevention and return-to-play support.
  • Manage daily operations of the training room, including supply and equipment inventory.
  • Provide on-site staffing for all home athletic contests and respond to injuries for both home and away teams.
  • Document and submit athletic incident/injury reports to campus authorities.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and college policies related to athletics.
  • Manage and coordinate turf field maintenance and schedule field use for college activities.
  • Serve as the point of contact for facility rentals and oversee student workers in game management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training, exercise science, or related field.
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience related to the duties and responsibilities.
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and licensed by the Washington State Department of Health, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or ability to obtain prior to start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in athletic training, exercise science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience related to the duties and responsibilities.
  • Multilingual, especially Spanish speaking.
