About the position

The Athletic Trainer PRN at Baylor Scott & White Health provides on-site healthcare services to communities through sports medicine programs. This role focuses on the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and safe return to athletic activity for individuals recovering from injuries and illnesses.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site healthcare services for athletic injuries and illnesses under the direction of a licensed physician.
• Maintain accurate documentation of healthcare practices within the scope of the athletic training license.
• Act as a liaison between physicians, patient caregivers, and other parties to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
• Assist with the sports medicine program to ensure effective and efficient operations.
• Market the sports medicine program by providing information and education to patients and the community.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, and manage requests for replenishment.
• Prepare clinical progress notes and other required documentation in accordance with established policies.
• Facilitate appointments for athletes and families to access healthcare services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
• Less than 1 year of experience in athletic training.
• Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Driver's License (TXDL) if moving from out of state, must obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
• NATABOC Certification preferred.
