About the position

The Athletic Trainer position at Stockbridge Schools involves developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health care programs for athletes and patients. The role includes risk management, injury prevention, clinical evaluation, immediate care, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries or illnesses. The Athletic Trainer will work in various settings, including high schools, colleges, community events, and HFHS sites, under the direction of a physician.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health care programs for athletes and patients.
  • Conduct clinical evaluations and assessments of injuries.
  • Provide immediate care and treatment for injuries.
  • Rehabilitate and recondition athletes recovering from injuries.
  • Adhere to community outreach and school policies, including NCAA, NJCAA, and MHSAA guidelines.
  • Work independently and prioritize service delivery as needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program or equivalent.
  • Board of Certification, Inc. certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC).
  • License as an Athletic Trainer (AT) through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
  • At least two years of related work experience in athletic training or a combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Post-certification Master's degree in athletic training or related field.
  • Additional certifications in health care (i.e., CSCS, PES, FMS, CKTP, EMT).
