About the position

The ATLAS Application Developer position within the Department of Revenue's Information Services division focuses on writing, maintaining, and improving code and configuration for GenTax, a tax management solution. The role emphasizes collaboration with business units to analyze requests and implement solutions, fostering a culture of respect and continuous improvement among developers.

Responsibilities

• Write, maintain, and improve configuration and code in GenTax.
• Perform specialized analysis of business, legislative, and technical requests.
• Coordinate and implement GenTax changes with other technical staff.
• Work closely with business units to demonstrate prototypes and determine solutions.
• Gather and discover requirements for system changes.
• Determine feasibility of recommended solutions and impacts of changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with an emphasis in software development and 1 year of relevant experience, or an Associate Degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant development experience.
• Strong background in software development or a related discipline.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with Object Oriented Programming (VB .Net, C# .Net, Java, Ruby).
• Experience with SQL and Relational Databases.
• Ability to conceptualize and communicate solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with FAST Enterprise's GenTax software.
• Experience supporting production systems.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
