The Attorney 16 position in the Financial Crimes Division focuses on prosecuting complex white-collar crimes, particularly in the recreational and medical marihuana industries. The attorney will navigate various legal issues, prepare legal documents, and conduct criminal prosecutions in state courts, while also mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Handle complex legal assignments related to financial crimes.
- Prosecute cases involving recreational and medical marihuana industries.
- Manage a larger and more complex caseload with substantial independence.
- Guide and mentor less experienced attorneys.
- Prepare pleadings and develop legal strategies for criminal prosecutions.
- Authorize investigative subpoenas and search warrants under supervision.
- Draft formal and informal legal opinions.
- Conduct routine and complex criminal prosecutions in state courts.
Requirements
- Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law.
- Four years of post-bar admission legal experience.
- Membership in good standing in the Michigan State Bar.
