About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Attorney-Adviser in the Air Education and Training Command (AETC) Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. The role involves complex legal research and writing on various civil law projects, advising senior officials on legal matters, and providing specialized legal review and consultation in areas such as information and privacy law, ethics, and acquisition law. The position requires a high level of legal training and experience, as well as the ability to conduct detailed investigations and develop comprehensive legal products.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex research and writing on specialized projects in civil law.
  • Advise the AETC Commander and Staff Judge Advocate on general law matters.
  • Provide legal review and consultation on information and privacy law.
  • Assist in ethics-related responsibilities, including investigations and legal opinions.
  • Serve as legal counsel for acquisition and fiscal law programs.
  • Provide legal advice on labor relations law and personnel law.
  • Research and apply laws related to real property and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have a law degree (J.D. or LL.B) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Must be a member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a state or the District of Columbia.
  • Five years of relevant experience or an advanced law degree is desired.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Must file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon appointment.
