About the position
The Occupational Injury Lawyer position at our defense law firm focuses on managing all aspects of workers' compensation cases. This role requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in workers' compensation law and a valid California Bar license. Responsibilities
- Represent insurance carriers, 3rd party administrators, and self-insured employers
- Correspond with clients and manage case-related documentation
- Prepare legal pleadings and negotiate settlements
- Attend court hearings, schedule appointments, and conduct depositions
- Handle lien claims and proactively manage cases
- Supervise and mentor legal assistants to ensure efficient case support
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Participate in marketing events to attract new clients and maintain existing ones
- Review and input case information into PracticeMaster and billing software
- Meet deadlines for client correspondence and attend file reviews
- Provide training seminars on workers' compensation case law to clients
- Stay informed about current developments in workers' compensation law
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years in recent workers' compensation law
- Valid California Bar license
