About the position

Atwood & Cherny, P.C., a Boston-based family law trial law firm, is seeking a dedicated attorney to join our family law practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in family law, demonstrating strong academic and professional credentials. This position requires excellent analytical skills, legal research capabilities, and proficient writing and communication skills. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Probate & Family Court personnel and will be familiar with the forms and procedures necessary for drafting pleadings and performing discovery. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow alongside experienced family law practitioners, embracing the opportunity to engage in all aspects of family law. An entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine passion for the practice of law are essential for this role. The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience, reflecting the candidate's qualifications and expertise in the field. This is a full-time position, and the work will be conducted in person at our office located at 177 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.

Responsibilities

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings and discovery materials.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
  • Attend court hearings and represent clients in family law matters.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and approaches.

Requirements

  • A valid Bar license is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law.
  • Strong academic and professional credentials.
  • Excellent analytical, legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Probate & Family Court personnel and forms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in trial law and litigation.
  • Familiarity with family law mediation processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
