About the position

The Auction Site Operations Coordinator at Altec Industries, Inc. is responsible for managing auction operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role serves as a liaison between the sales force, customers, and auction operations teams, handling day-to-day needs of buyers and sellers to support the sales team in acquiring new consignors. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quotes/pricing, enter and track consignments, and contract for shipping.
  • Assist buyers with delivery and communicate credit terms.
  • Respond to customer requests for information on auction day.
  • Serve as a customer service representative for inquiries leading up to each auction.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Receivable to communicate invoice and credit terms and resolve collection issues.
  • Accurately cost and complete all steps required in quoting each product according to corporate standards.
  • Capture and communicate customer requirements efficiently.
  • Process orders per corporate procedures while meeting time parameters.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of commonly sold products and administrative processes.
  • Handle operational issues such as pictures, specifications, and conditions of consignments.
  • Assist with data acquisition for items to be sold in the region.
  • Approve items for auction and website inclusion.
  • Enter fees for items sold in the Timed Auction and review invoices for accuracy.
  • Work with transportation coordinator to arrange pick up of consignments.
  • Utilize PO system to enter reimbursable costs into the database.
  • Review payout information to ensure costs are charged back to each consignment.
  • Demonstrate progress towards proficiency in training areas and attend training sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Sales or Business.
  • Available for overnight travel.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage time and tasks.
  • Demonstrated customer and people skills.
  • Ability to work with team members and with minimal supervision.
