About the position

The Audience and Data Governance Manager at General Motors plays a crucial role in enhancing GM's audience-based media strategy, ensuring effective use of paid media to engage current and prospective vehicle buyers. This position involves collaboration with internal data, marketing technology, and analytics teams to develop scalable audience solutions and drive targeted media initiatives. The manager will also engage with key media vendors and industry associations to influence the future of addressability and targeting in advertising.

Responsibilities

  • Lead GM's audience-based media approach on a day-to-day basis.
  • Collaborate closely with internal martech and analytics teams to enhance marketing activation and measurement capabilities.
  • Develop requirements for media-data led initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure audience solutions are scalable for national, regional, and local activations.
  • Work with brand media teams to establish core audience requirements for media activations.
  • Identify growth opportunities for addressable audiences in media with activation teams.
  • Align audience measurement with broader corporate measurement initiatives.
  • Represent GM's interests in addressability and data workstreams with advertising organizations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading large, complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and influence a team with both direct and indirect reports.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital paid media, preferably in agency or automotive settings.
  • Experience with identity management providers (e.g., Epsilon, Merkle) is preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex initiatives requiring stakeholder input.
  • Strong listening skills to understand internal/external stakeholder needs and develop solutions.
  • People management experience is preferred.
  • Desire for ongoing education and skill development in the media space.
  • Excellent time management skills to focus on impactful activities.
