About the position

The Audio (DSP) AI/ML Software Engineer V position is focused on developing and maintaining machine learning tooling and infrastructure to support research scientists in leveraging advanced technologies for audio applications. The role emphasizes collaboration within a multifunctional team, requiring strong coding skills, experience with deep learning frameworks, and the ability to work with complex data sets. The engineer will be responsible for writing clean code, debugging systems, and integrating with existing infrastructures while contributing to innovative solutions in the AR/VR space.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable code and debug complex problems that span systems.
• Create robust, flexible, and scalable ML tooling and infrastructure for research scientists.
• Coordinate with internal infrastructure and tool teams to evaluate and integrate existing systems.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multifunctional team, valuing communication and documentation.
• Learn constantly and embrace ambiguity in AR/VR problem solving.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of industry experience with deep learning frameworks in Python, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• 2+ years of experience working with large, complex data sets for machine learning, including capture and annotation.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and evaluating working end-to-end prototypical learning systems.
• Experience with high performance or distributed compute solutions.
• Some deployment and continuous integration experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Machine Learning for Audio, multimodal or DSP purposes.
• Experience working in the AR/VR application space.
• Experience in Linux or Windows shell scripting.
• Ability to gather requirements and work closely with researchers to develop novel solutions.
• History of writing code to support the execution of research initiatives.
