About the position

The Audio Engineer B will provide essential audio support for performances at the Grand Ole Opry and other events, ensuring high-quality sound for live and recorded productions. This role involves planning, setting up, and operating audio equipment, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting audio systems to meet the needs of various clients and audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide audio support for performances at the Grand Ole Opry and other events.
  • Plan, set up, and operate audio equipment and systems for live and taped productions.
  • Maintain knowledge of all professional audio equipment, network protocols, routing, and processing devices.
  • Operate all audio-related equipment, including house-owned backline.
  • Fulfill audio support needs for musicians and in-house audiences, including audio distribution for radio and television.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of audio equipment.
  • Select alternate equipment and systems routing to work around failures during production.
  • Interface with producers, clients, and talent to understand their audio needs and make recommendations.
  • Maintain awareness of music structures and arrangements, including current technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience as an Audio Engineer.
  • Thorough knowledge of professional audio systems and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of music, acoustics, and electronics.
  • Ability to interface with management and clients.
  • Forklift certification.
