About the position

The ML Engineer Internship at Bose offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in machine learning and audio signal processing. Interns will work on specific projects over a 10-12 week period, contributing to the development of next-generation wearable and speaker products. This role emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and the chance to connect with senior leadership, providing a comprehensive view of the company and its operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and evaluate deep learning algorithms focused on audio problems.
• Research, implement, and evaluate various published approaches and algorithms for machine learning and audio signal processing.
• Build phone and desktop software prototypes to enable new machine learning and audio experiences on wearable products.
• Suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements to inform the machine learning product roadmap.

Requirements

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Strong programming background with 2+ years of experience in Python and C/C++.
• Strong experience in implementing deep neural networks with TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, etc.
• Experience with cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
• High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Proven software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, or coding competitions.
• Strong publication record in relevant venues demonstrating innovative research.
• Solid understanding and experience working with audio and digital signal processing.
