About the position

The Audio SQA Engineer will be responsible for performing audio validation activities during the development of audio products and sustaining programs. This role requires a commitment to quality and a passion for customer experience, utilizing specialized audio measurement equipment to validate audio performance. The engineer will create test plans, execute test cases, and report defects while collaborating with development and project management teams to resolve audio-related system bugs.

Responsibilities

• Perform audio validation activities during the development stage of audio products.
• Create test plans and execute test cases according to the test plan.
• Utilize sophisticated audio measurement equipment to validate audio performance.
• Report defects using the internal bug management system.
• Work cross-functionally with development and project management teams to triage and resolve audio-related system bugs.

Requirements

• At least 1+ years of QA experience in a similar role.
• Fundamental understanding of systems engineering principles (requirements, specifications, verification, validation).
• Fundamental understanding of QA principles and good practices (regression testing, functional testing, stress load testing).
• Basic technical skills such as navigating a Linux-like OS via command-line / Terminal.
• Knowledge of at least one C-like programming language.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or C.
• Fundamental understanding of audio signal processing and audio measurement tools.
• Basic acoustics knowledge (what is dB SPL?).
• Experience with audio signal processing and audio measurement tools (hardware and software).
• Experience with testing pro-audio hardware.
