As an Audio System Engineer, you will be part of a passionate and skilled team that focuses on creating innovative high-performance automotive audio systems. Our systems are integrated into a wide range of vehicles, from luxury brands like Porsche to mainstream manufacturers like Nissan. With a legacy dating back to the introduction of the world's first custom-engineered audio system in a 1983 Cadillac, we continue to lead the market in total cabin sound management. In this role, you will join our Global Research & Development community, specifically within the Applied Research and Concept Development team that supports our Automotive Systems Division. This team is responsible for developing concepts that demonstrate next-generation technologies and experiences through advanced development. You will explore various use cases and user experiences, aiming to de-risk product experiences and ensure that our audio systems deliver transformative sound quality. We are looking for engineers who are not only technically proficient but also have a deep passion for audio and music. You will be challenged to find creative and innovative solutions that elevate audio performance and enhance user experiences. The position may involve some domestic and international travel, and you should be comfortable working under challenging development schedules.

Responsibilities

• Join the Global Research & Development community in the Applied Research and Concept Development team.
• Develop concepts to demonstrate next-generation audio technologies and experiences.
• Explore use cases and user experiences to de-risk product experiences.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers to create innovative automotive audio systems.
• Conduct in-vehicle acoustic measurements and design acoustic experiences.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field with emphasis in acoustics, audio engineering, or DSP.
• 8 years of experience in the automotive audio industry.
• Strong understanding of digital signal processing, signals, and systems.
• Background in designing acoustic experiences.
• Solid understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and transducers.
• Experience with automotive audio systems and in-vehicle acoustic measurements.
• Proficient in Matlab and Simulink.
• Critical listening skills and effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of digital/analog circuit design is a plus.
