About the position

The triage engineer role in Apple's Audio and Media Technologies (AMT) team focuses on debugging and problem-solving within the audio domain of Apple's products. This position requires collaboration across multiple teams to manage and prioritize incoming bugs, develop new triage methods, and enhance product quality through effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Screen incoming bugs to understand, reproduce, characterize, and isolate issues for audio components.
  • Help triage and prioritize trending issues by reducing them to actionable next steps for escalation to multi-functional team members.
  • Develop tools and scripts to assist in the efficient triaging of bugs.

Requirements

  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills along with a diligent mindset.
  • Solid understanding of audio technologies, applications, and real-time audio systems.
  • Understanding of core OS concepts like multi-threading, memory management, and power management.
  • Exemplary written communication skills and considerate, yet confident personal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience with an emphasis on digital audio technologies.
  • Experience in Javascript or other scripting tools, with working knowledge of C, C++, and Objective-C.
