About the position

The Audio Video Communication Field Service Engineer at Daktronics is responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support for audio-visual and display systems. This role involves working directly with customers to ensure the successful installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Daktronics equipment, contributing to memorable game day experiences at various venues. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including nights and weekends, and involves travel to customer sites within the regional area and potentially nationwide or internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Provide service, installation, or support during events at customer sites.
  • Deliver on-site technical and maintenance services for Control Systems and Display Systems.
  • Train Service Partners on Daktronics equipment and systems.
  • Participate in technical training on new products and systems.
  • Create and update knowledge base articles for internal and external use.
  • Provide technical support via the help desk, including over-the-phone assistance.
  • Respond to customer requests for technical support through calls.
  • Assist with software application installation and configuration support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software technical issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Visual/Broadcast system, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or a similar field.
  • Experience in technical roles demonstrating learning ability and aptitude.
  • Strong communication skills in various settings.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and maintain professionalism.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and a positive attitude.
  • Strong computer skills including internet navigation, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work as a team member and assist where needed.
  • Comfortable working from a home office and traveling as required.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal; multilingual is a plus.
  • Ability to work at heights and carry tools and equipment up to 45 pounds.
