About the position

Sinclair, Inc. is seeking an Audio/Video Editor to enhance its expanding podcast portfolio. This role is pivotal in creating multi-channel programming that resonates with audiences. The ideal candidate will possess a versatile production background and a profound passion for digital content, particularly in the realm of podcasts. Applicants should have a solid foundation in both short and long-form video production, as well as experience in editing and sound designing audio content. A comprehensive understanding of the entire production process, from conceptualization to execution, is essential. Familiarity with social media platforms and YouTube, especially in the sports domain, is an added advantage. Candidates are encouraged to submit samples of their editing work with their application. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-department teams to shape the overall aesthetic and auditory experience of Sinclair's podcast offerings. You will be responsible for developing technical setups that include audio and video hardware and software, both in-person and virtually. Your duties will also involve engineering and recording content, capturing and organizing media efficiently, and crafting visual elements such as graphics, templates, and title cards while executing sound design across various shows. You will assemble all episode components, mix them cohesively, and master full episodes to completion. Additionally, you will create workflows to ensure production efficiency and educate both internal and external teams on best practices. Working closely with the social and marketing teams, you will create episode cutdowns for promotional purposes across linear, social, and other digital channels. You will make informed editorial decisions regarding content, episode length, and metadata to optimize shows for maximum audience growth. Your responsibilities will also include executing sponsorship elements in accordance with campaign requirements, uploading episodes to audio and video hosting platforms, inputting metadata, and scheduling publishing. You will optimize the video versions of podcasts for distribution across various channels and assist in operating and maintaining the podcast studio space in Los Angeles. Staying updated with the latest trends, software, and analytics will be crucial for making informed editorial decisions and driving innovative content creation. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-department teams to shape the overall look and sound of Sinclair's podcast portfolio.
  • Develop technical setups, including audio and video hardware and software, both in-person and virtually.
  • Engineer and record content both in-person and virtually, capturing and organizing media efficiently.
  • Craft visual elements such as graphics, templates, and title cards, and execute sound design across various shows.
  • Assemble all episode elements, mix them together cohesively, and master full episodes to completion.
  • Create a workflow to ensure production efficiency and educate both internal and external teams on best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of high-level audio and video production experience.
  • Highly skilled in both video and audio editing software (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Understanding of both in-person and remote studio setups (cameras, lighting, microphones, etc.) with the ability to set up and troubleshoot.
  • Adept at remote recording software (i.e. Riverside, Squadcast, Streamyard, etc.) and publishing platforms (Megaphone, YouTube, etc.).
  • An eye for quality content, with an understanding of what plays well across various channels.
  • Strong collaborator and team player with a dedicated work ethic, highly dependable, and passionate about multimedia production.
  • Effective communicator, extremely well organized, and able to work efficiently against multiple deadlines.
  • Consistently maintain a professional demeanor; comfortability interacting with high-level talent and celebrities.
  • Flexibility to travel and work nights and/or weekends as projects call for.
