About the position

ICS is seeking skilled Audio/Video (Electrical) Engineers at all experience levels to design, plan, and implement advanced AV and low voltage system solutions. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver customized AV designs, guiding projects from concept to installation, and ensuring optimal performance. The position offers opportunities for entry-level to senior-level engineers, with tailored responsibilities based on experience and career goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to the sales team in a detailed and timely manner.
  • Conduct job site surveys and assessments to document customer requirements and site conditions.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their AV requirements, objectives, and budget constraints.
  • Develop comprehensive AV design proposals and job cost estimates, including system layouts and equipment lists.
  • Design, develop, and debug high-speed digital circuits and AV systems, considering thermal and signal integrity.
  • Utilize industry-leading software tools for AV system design and simulation.
  • Develop the Bill of Materials and Statement of Work for each job based on system design.
  • Provide technical responses to customer RFPs/RFQs/RFIs.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, addressing design challenges.
  • Complete assignments on time and within budget.
  • Develop and conform to company technical standards and practices.
  • Interpret technical specifications, schematic drawings, and architectural diagrams.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the AV industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in Low Voltage, IT, and AV design is ideal.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and AV design tools (e.g., D-Tools, Visio).
  • Strong understanding of AV signal flow, audio/video processing, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for AV design and integration.
  • Strong hardware debugging skills and root-cause failure analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset focused on delivering high-quality, client-centric solutions.
  • Programming experience (C/C#/Crestron/Extron/AMX preferred).
  • Experience with the design and installation of professional audio, video, network, and lighting systems for senior-level positions.

Nice-to-haves

  • PE licensure is a strong plus for mid to senior-level roles.
  • CTS-D certification preferred.
