About the position

Alive Media is seeking a full-time Audio/Video/Lighting (AVL) System Design Engineer to participate in projects from conceptualization through design and sales stages, while supporting customer relationships until project completion. The role involves documenting designs, conducting site surveys, and creating system designs, all within a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and project assessments to determine client technology needs.
• Create system designs from start to finish, considering price, availability, and interoperability of equipment.
• Prepare drawings, diagrams, schematics, and equipment elevations using design software.
• Develop client proposals and sales quotations, and process purchase orders with office support.
• Provide as-built drawings, custom manuals, and product documentation post-project completion.
• Assist with installation, integration, configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning of equipment at customer sites.
• Build, verify, and test equipment prior to delivery to clients.
• Support project management and integration teams to ensure design consistency with the final result.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 4+ years of AVL design experience in performance venues, corporate systems, and contemporary church systems.
• 4+ years of experience in integration and service/maintenance of AVL systems.
• Advanced understanding of audio, video, lighting best practices and fundamentals.
• Proficiency in design software such as Sketchup/Layout, AutoCAD, and/or Visio.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under strict deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• AVIXA (InfoComm) CTS certification.
• Additional industry certifications such as Dante, Shure, Biamp Tesira, Yamaha Pro Audio, Extron Control.
• Previous live event production and system installer experience.
