About the position

As an Audio Visual Engineer at Leidos, you will play a crucial role in supporting an enterprise IT program within the Intelligence Community. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to make a significant impact through their technical expertise and innovative solutions. You will be responsible for utilizing your in-depth knowledge and experience in audio visual systems to enhance the quality of products and services offered to our clients. Your work will involve a combination of conceptual design and practical implementation, ensuring that all audio and video systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. In this role, you will attend customer meetings and conduct site surveys to gather essential information for system design. You will translate customer requirements into functional system designs, ensuring that all specifications are met. A strong understanding of architectural and construction drawings is necessary, as you will be designing and engineering complex audio/video/VTC systems, which includes providing detailed floor plans and elevations. Additionally, you will create engineering, programming, and installation labor estimates, configure, and test audio/video systems to ensure they function as intended. While this position does not include supervisory responsibilities, you may provide guidance to integration and installation teams, sharing your expertise to facilitate successful project outcomes. Your ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, project stakeholders, and clients will be essential in fostering collaboration and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Attend customer meetings and conduct site surveys
  • Translate customer requirements into functional system designs
  • Understand architectural/construction drawings and documentation
  • Design and engineer complex audio/video/VTC systems, including providing floor plans and elevations
  • Create engineering, programming and installation labor estimates
  • Configure and test Audio/Video systems
  • Provide guidance for integration and/or installation teams as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant A/V experience, additional work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Basic understanding of IP technologies
  • Experience working with A/V switching systems
  • Experience working with commercial audio and demonstrated understanding of audio theory, signal flow and gain staging
  • Experience with DSP technology, including DANTE
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite to include Visio and Power Point
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally with colleagues, project stakeholders and the client
  • Understanding industry best practices in audio, video and control systems design/integration for conference rooms, operation center watch floors, training rooms, and VIP offices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to assess customer needs, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Must demonstrate ability to thrive and succeed in a challenging environment
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to interact with individuals from all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional customer service skills
