About the position

The Audio Visual Field Engineer will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of commercial audio/visual systems. This role requires a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices, as well as the ability to read and interpret AV signal one-line drawings. The engineer will interface with clients and ensure installations meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Installation of commercial audio visual systems including AV cable pulling and rack building/pre-wiring.
• Hanging projector screens and building structures to support AV equipment.
• Installing speakers, flat panel displays, cameras, and ceiling/tabletop microphones.
• Soldering AV connectors and terminating shielded category cable.
• Conducting expert-level troubleshooting of AV systems.
• Pulling, terminating, and testing all cables and wiring associated with audio/video systems.
• Conducting terminations in accordance with system diagrams.
• Working with projectors, video conferencing systems, screen displays, and computer controls.
• Providing feedback to improve the installation process.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
• Formal education in electronics or a related field preferred.
• Excellent experience with audiovisual or other electro-mechanical installation techniques.
• Crestron programming experience required.
• Experience with video conferencing systems such as Polycom, Tandberg, Cisco, or LifeSize preferred.
• Ability to read schematic diagrams and drawings.
• Proficient in PC and networking.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of commercial construction standards.
• Experience in the AV residential field, including home theaters and smart house designs.
