About the position

The AV Field Engineer II is a senior service support role responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems in the audio-visual (AV) field. This position involves testing and verifying system components, creating shop drawings, and understanding advanced system specifications. The engineer will also handle basic programming and configuration of AV equipment, oversee project installations, and assist with project closeouts and demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in the AV field.
• Test and verify system components and functions.
• Create shop drawings and submittals for new projects.
• Understand and implement Control System and DSP programming.
• Commission audio systems and configure IP addressable devices.
• Oversee technical aspects of projects and IT coordination.
• Pre-quality check projects and create punch lists for project closeouts.
• Assist sales staff with product and system demonstrations.
• Support Field Engineer I and project managers as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 3-4 years of experience in audio-visual commercial integration industry.
• Proven track record in audio-visual systems engineering and control systems commissioning.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Biamp, QSC, BSS, ClearOne DSP systems.
• Familiarity with Crestron, Extron, AMX systems.
• Basic understanding of data networking.
