About the position

As an Audio Visual Field Engineer at TRITECH Communications, you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, and maintenance of advanced audio-visual systems. This position requires a deep understanding of complex system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals. You will be responsible for testing, commissioning, and operating various types of AV systems and equipment, ensuring that all installations meet the high standards set by TRITECH and the specifications provided by consultants. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting and configuring AV equipment, including media control systems such as Crestron and Extron, as well as digital signal processors (DSPs) from manufacturers like Biamp and QSC. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Tritech programmers to debug and test programming, ensuring seamless integration of AV systems. You will also be expected to configure IP addressable devices, including routers, switches, and servers, contributing to projects from the initial estimating phase through to final inspections. Leading on-site installation teams and subcontractors, you will oversee the completion of punch list items and provide comprehensive close-out documentation, including as-builts and IP tables. Your ability to interact professionally with clients and train them on the use of AV systems will be vital to ensuring customer satisfaction and successful project outcomes. This position requires a willingness to work both in-house and in the field, adapting to the needs of each project. You will utilize your proficiency in Windows-based software, particularly MS Office, to support your work and maintain clear communication with team members and clients alike.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehend advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals
  • Test, commission, and operate most types of AV systems and equipment
  • Ensure quality of AV installations per consultant specifications or Tritech standards
  • Troubleshoot and configure AV equipment such as media control systems (Crestron & Extron), DSPs, matrix mixers, switchers, and codecs
  • Work alongside Tritech programmers to troubleshoot, debug, and test programming
  • Have experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Cisco
  • Configure IP addressable devices such as routers, switches, and servers
  • Contribute on projects from initial estimating phase through final inspections
  • Lead on-site installation team & subcontractors to complete punch list items
  • Provide close-out documentation such as as-builts, IP tables, and other applicable items
  • Be willing to work both 'in house' and in the field when required
  • Interact with clients in a professional, customer service-oriented manner
  • Train clients on how to use AV systems, troubleshoot, and best practices

Requirements

  • 5 years or more of previous employment in an engineering or technical position with an AV integration firm, preferably with design and installation related responsibilities
  • Hold an Avixa certification as a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D)
  • Hold current technical certifications from several major AV equipment manufacturers, such as Crestron (NVX, DMC-E), Extron, Biamp, QSC, Dante, or similar manufacturers
  • Possess a college degree in a technology related field (may substitute four more years of AV work experience in lieu of a college degree)
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
