About the position

The Audio-Visual Help Desk Technician at Indian Township Solutions is responsible for providing technical support and assistance for audiovisual systems used in a dynamic government program. This role involves resolving AV-related trouble tickets, maintaining technological assets, and ensuring optimal AV function to support various end users. The technician will also create user-training manuals, conduct diagnostics, and communicate with vendors to address hardware and software issues.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes issues and provides technical assistance, support, and advice to end users for AV hardware, software, and systems
  • Researches, studies and resolves AV software and hardware issues of users, using all available resources
  • Determines whether the issue is caused by hardware, software, or system
  • Answers questions by applying AV knowledge of computer software, hardware, systems, and procedures
  • Logs trouble tickets and maintains relevant records documenting all symptoms, troubleshooting and resolution
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of technological assets
  • Creates and maintains user-training manuals and procedures and provides training when necessary
  • Makes recommendations to Executive Management on what types of devices and technologies are needed for efficiency and success
  • Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal AV function and minimal downtime
  • Confers with Programmers to explain software errors or to recommend changes to programs
  • Communicates with software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products
  • Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work
  • Performs administrative duties including but not limited to completion and submission of purchase orders, travel requests, expense authorizations, expense reports, and return materials authorizations as needed
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the United States
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Accounting, or other related discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification required
  • Crestron and BiAmp configuration experience
